June 28, Eugene, OR ~ Chloe Curtis (Jr, Redondo Union) and Jaye Buchbinder (So, Chadwick Prep), our honorary Janes, and what we like to call our Baby Janes, competed this past weekend alongside the seniors at the USATF Junior Championships at historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. Chloe PR’d in the 800 in the qualifying race running 2:10.09 which qualified her to the finals where she placed 7th in a time of 2:14.25. Jaye was one of the youngest competitors in her 1500 qualifying race running 4:42.64. Unfortunately, she did not qualify for the final with that mark but Jaye had a terrific season PR’ing in the 1600 by over 22 seconds from the previous season. We are proud to call these ladies our Baby Janes! Check out results here.

Portland Track Festival

Portland Track Festival

June 13, Portland, OR ~ Tania and Kirsten ended their spring seasons up in beautiful Portland, Oregon at the Portland Track Festival held at Lewis & Clark College. They couldn’t pass up the opportunity to run in the Masters 3000 meter race against former competitors and friends from their past. The race lived up to its hype with a great group of women in attendance and a record run by Master’s great, Carmen Ayala-Trancoso. Tania, exhausted from school activities and end of season work, gave it her all but came up short in her expectations. Kirsten, who hasn’t competed on the track in three years, ran an admirable race despite her time away. Onward and upward for 2010!! For results, click here.
