Up Next: Brea 8K

imagesThe Janes will travel to the Brea mall to race in the Brea 8k on Sunday, February 28th. This race is the only sanctioned 8k (about 5 miles) in this region and represents a rolling course with long straightaways. Tania, Adrienne, Tiffany, Jenna and Kirsten will comprise a team of five to compete in the team competition for the USATF Southern California Association race series in hopes of taking that team title. Barbara’s Two Mile in England

Barbara competed in her home country in Birmingham, England in the indoor two mile this past Saturday in the indoor Aviva Grand Prix meet. She ran against an elite field finishing in a personal best time of 9:35.83 in sixth place. Barbara already qualified for the World Indoor Championships to be held on March 12th – 14th in Doha, Qutar while running an 8:52.90 in the 3000 at the Boston Indoor Games. Good job, Barbara! Cambria – 2nd at Pasadena Half Marathon

Cambo-ConquerCambria went out Pasadena this past weekend and ran a half marathon. She came in second place running a 1:25.00 behind Kelly Flathers of Cal Coast Club won it in a time of 1:23.51. Cambria felt good about the effort noting that she was just wanting to get in a long, hard run in for the fitness benefits at this time of the year. For complete results, click here.

Janes win team title at Redondo Super Bowl 10k

IMG_4106Adrienne and Lexi finished second and third respectively in the Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 5k this past week. Adrienne ran 18:22.3 and Lexi ran 18:45.2. Karla Alburez from Los Angeles finished first in a time of 18:02.4. In the 10k, a team of five Janes came away with the USATF Southern California team title. Tania had a great race finding another gear in the final miles to beat out some other talented girls in the field to finish third. Kirsten, Emily, Ally and Sissel rounded out the team. Cambria started the race but had to pull out due to an injured calf. For complete results, click here.
