Juliane 9th at USATF’s

juliane barrierJuliane Masciana finished in 9th place this past Sunday at the USATF Championships in Des Moines, Iowa in the finals of the 3000 meter steeplechase. Juliane ran 10:18.82 well off her 9:59 PR but in hot, humid and windy conditions where the winner, Nike athlete Lisa Aguilera, ran 9:53.59.

Barbara Parker is Britain’s top 3000m Steeplechaser

BarbaraParkerWins5kSMClassicbyCruseBarbara Parker won the Aviva UK Championship title in the 3000 meter steeplechase this past weekend running a time of 9:37.77. Evidently she ran most of the race comfortably ahead of the pack. This sets her up nicely for next month’s European Championships to be held in Barcelona, Spain on July 27 – August 1. Go Barbara!

Aloha – Amanda races Kona 10k

XAmanda Rondash hopped into a Kona 10k this past weekend while vacationing with her family. Well, she won! She ran a relaxe 6:47 per mile pace over the long 10k (actual 6:46) in a time of 43:45. Frank Shorter happened to be there too and Amanda received her beautiful Hawaiian wooden bowl from him during the awards ceremony (you can see Frank in the background on the stage with the microphone.). Maholo, Amanda!

USATF Nationals Update

IMG_1717Juliane Masciana finished third in her heat in the prelims of the USATF Nationals 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 10:01.40. Nationals are being held in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University. There were two heats with the top 14 times qualifying for the Saturday final. Juliane’s time was third overall between the two heats too. The final of the steeplechase will be held on Sunday afternoon. For complete results, click here.

sporteve Culver City City Run Results

IMG_6857Tania Fischer was 2nd woman and 9th overall in the 3rd Annual sporteve Culver City 5k running 17:42.2 over a flat, fast course. Jaime Canterbury was the first woman running 17:21.3.

Erika Aklufi ran in the 10k, finished 1st woman and 2nd overall running 34:40.5 with splits of 17:15 and 17:25. The course was the 5k loop run twice.
