2007 USATF National Club Cross Country Championship
Under rough, muddy running conditions and temperatures in the low 40's, the day started off with Kelle Taylor running the Master's 6km race. After taking several weeks off to nurse a knee injury, Kelle ran a competitive race to finish 8th overall and placed 5th in her age division with a time of 23:46. In the Women's Open 6km race, the Janes ran tough and earned 199 points to finish 5th. The Run Ohio Racing Team won the team title with 157 points. Syliva Mosqueda led the Janes placing 19th in 21:35 while Tania Fischer, running her best race of the season, was close behind in 21:44, placing 25th. Grace Padilla finished 34th with a time of 21:53. The Janes gave a 60th-62nd punch with Natalie Whelan (22:22), Shannon McConville (22:23), and Cambria D'Amico (22:23) finishing together. Other Janes competitors were Kim Ramirez (112th, 23:08) and Jenna Dee (133rd, 23:42). Pacific Association & Western Regional Championships
November 18, 2007 - The Janes ran a tough race with a number of stand out performances at the Pacific Association & Western Regional Championships in Golden Gate Park. The team took second place overall losing (by ONE point) to the Asics Aggies. Grace Padilla led the team, running up front in a small pack the entire 4-mile race, finishing in 5th place with a time of 23:50. Tania Fischer also ran a very strong race, placing 10th in 24:14. Next up was Natalie Whelan, who took 12th with a time of 24:20, followed by Cambria D'Amico in 14th place (24:22), Kim Ramirez in 17th place (24:36), Shannon McConville in 21st place (24:49), Cosette Smith in 24th place (25:07 ) and Jenna Dee in 27th place (25:31). The team score of 36 points put them far ahead of the third place team. The Janes are ready to rock at Nationals. See you in Ohio! Click here for results.
Southern California USATF Cross-Country Championships
November 10, 2007 - The Janes reclaimed the team title at the Southern California USATF Cross-Country Championships at Kenneth Hahn Park in Baldwin Hills. Running as a pack of five for much of the race, the Janes scored a perfect score of 15 points. Shannon led the group with a second place overall finish. She was followed closely by Natalie in 4th, Cambria in 5th, Jenna in 7th, and Kim in 8th. Santa Monica 5000 & 10000
The Janes’ packed it up at the Santa Monica 5000 on Sunday, October 21. Tania Fischer led the way with an astonishing 5th place finish at 17:31. She was closely followed by Gracie Padilla 7th (17:44), Shannon McConville 9th (17:56), and Kimmy Ramirez 10th (18:23). Pilar Delgado took home a 3rd place finish in the 10,000 with a time of 37:48. The next showing of the Janes’ will take place Saturday November 10th at the 2007 Southern California USATF Championships in an attempt to capture the Traveling Cup (location Kenneth Hahn Park, Baldwin Hills in West LA).
Cal Poly Invitational
The Janes competed at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's hilly course this past Saturday, October 13th. The Janes, being the only non-collegiate team, placed 2nd out of 10 teams. The Janes were led by newcomer Shannon McConville who placed 7th in 18:15, and followed closely by her teammate Kim Ramirez who placed 8th in 18:16. Tania Fischer who led the field through the first mile of the race, ran a tough race and finished close behind her teammates to place 11th in 18:22. To round out the top 5 scoring spots, Jenna Dee placed 18th in 18:50, and Pilar Delgado placed 22nd in 19:05. Also in our top 7 were Natalie Whelan (34th, 19:44) and Liz Buckley-Wheeler (46th, 20:06). The Janes are running strong as a pack and are pumped for their next race to help them prepare for Nationals!

UCR Invitational
The 2007 Janes' Cross Country season is well underway as the UCR Invitational took place in the early hours of the morning Saturday September 29 at the Ags/Ops Cross Country Course. It was a solid team effort and a great pack performance which placed the Janes 2nd among 22 teams with a total of 57 points (nearly missing 1st that was captured by UC Riverside with a total of 42 points). Cambria D'Amico led the way in a standout performance and personal best of 17:23.40 (placing 4th), which was 1:16 faster than she ran last year at this time on this same course. The rest of the pack was rounded out by Grace Padilla (11th place in 17:43), Tania Fischer (14th place in 17:51), Kim Ramirez (15th in 17:51), Shannon McConville (18th in 17:53), Natalie Whelan (22nd in 18:09), Jenna Dee (26th in 18:16), and Kelle Taylor (36th in 18:27).
