The road to Foot Locker Nationals for the western region begins at Mt SAC at the Foot Locker Western Regionals. The top ten ladies who cross the line, earn a berth to the 33rd annual Foot Locker Cross Country Championships held next week at Balboa Park in San Diego. There, 40 ladies from four regions throughout the country will compete to see who is the best in the country. One of our Baby Janes made that a reality this past weekend at the Western Regional meet. Kayla Ferron (Redondo Union HS senior) finished 10th overall in a time of 18:52 over the 5000 meter hilly and muddy course. Danielle Shanahan (Bishop Montgomery HS senior), who has been having a dream season of sorts this past cross country season, finished in 13th place just out of the top 10 mark but a remarkable feat nonetheless. Her time was 19:04. Cara Ulizio (Redondo Union HS senior) finished in 85th place in a time of 20:24.
