Four brave Janes went to run at the Cal Poly Cross Country Invitational this past Saturday. Tania , Sarah, Ally and Emily Field went to run against college women and get some cross country experience under their belt. Emily Field won the invitational posting a solid 17:40 for the hilly 5km course. Tania was 3rd overall running 18:06. Sarah despite falling , ran a solid 9th place in a time of 18:43 and Ally, coming back from knee surgery ran a great cross country opener at 20th place running 19:40.
UC Irvine took the team division, but the Janes would have been a good challenger if they were able to run a full team.
The next cross country race will be at Will Rodgers, October 24th, part of the USATF Southern California cross country series.
