Dana Point Turkey Trot

The Janes traveled down to Dana Point this past Thursday to run the 33rd Annual Dana Point Turkey Trot 10k on a cold and breezy morning. This race was the final race of the Southern California USATF Road Racing Grand Prix series for the year and it was a good one for the Janes. Barbara Parker won this prestigious and competitive race in a time of 34:07. But the competition was not far behind. The first three ladies were within 26 seconds of each other although after initially getting out fast, Barbara was never challenged running a relaxed first race of the season during a heavy training period. Kirsten Leetch was eighth (35:50) followed by Emily Field (12th, 37:01), Sarah Montez (13th, 37:19), Emily Mitchell (16th, 37:59) and Cambria Wu (18th, 38:28). The Janes swept the team competition of the race with no other team showing up to compete.

The 10k was also the Southern California USATF 10k Championships so Barbara won the open division while Kirsten won the master’s division.
