University of Washington Invitational was a great weekend! I was more nervous than I care to admit, but running in front of my mother was huge for me. My mother is my biggest fan and one of the reasons why I decided to start running again. On top of all of that the last time she saw me run was my senior year of college and probably one of my worst races ever. Now my mom being as supportive as she is doesn’t remember any of my bad races, but still I wanted to show her just how hard I have been working. My first lap still needs some improvement. Being boxed in is never fun but for the first time in an extremely long time I felt strong and fast. It has been years since I was able to pull away from a pack of runners. This is the feeling fueling me in workouts now! I can not wait to race again!
