A few Janes traveled down to Carlsbad to run the infamous Carlsbad 5000 road race. Tania Fischer, Tiffany Turner and Barbara Parker each ran in different divisional races. Tania started out the day running in the always competitive master’s division. She finished fifth in a time of 17:42 over the difficult course. Tiffany then ran in the 29 and under race finishing 21st woman in a time of 18:30. Barbara then ran in the exciting elite race. Barbara finished in a respectable 6th place in this international field in a time of 16:14. Multi-Olympian and World Championship medalist and world record holder, Meseret Defar, won the race in a time of 15:04.
