A trio of Janes took on the competitive field at the Brea 8k, with Julia earning a second place finish in 28:32, after a scorching first mile. Kirsten was 11th overall, winning her age group in 30:41, and Cambria was close behind her in 31:00. On the track, we had 2 Janes starting their seasons at the Cerritos College Open Meet, Jocelyne running a solid 10:40 in the 3k for 1st, and Judy competing in the 800m, with a great master’s time of 2:35. But the story of the weekend goes to Gwendolen, who earned a HUGE personal best time in the Phoenix marathon, running 2:54, breaking 3 hours for the first time, and crossing the line as the first Master’s finisher in the race! Our teammate Cristina paced Gwendolen, and helped her negative split the second half of the race, proving that teammates make it happen! Big congrats to Gwen, Cristina and the Janes for a successful race weekend! Next up is the Screenland 5k on Sunday, March 4!
