Janes start the season with a BANG!

10649673_10204771012253779_1165113753674320265_nAugust is the time for long tempo runs, long runs and maybe one or two long interval workouts. It is not the time to run a scorching fast mile but a few of our Janes did just that today in spite of the traditional build up cross country type training. Rachel, Ena and Tania went down to the El Toro Airfield and ran in the Southern California USATF Road Mile Championships. This race is a part of the Southern California Grand Prix Road Series too.

In this point to point race where you are just staring down the finish line from start to finish, the Janes started all together in the Elite Women’s race to run some fast times. Rachel, who just joined the sub-5 club, ran a personal best of 4:55.93 running in fourth place in a very competitive race. Ena was second for the Janes running fifth overall in a time of 5:02.41 and Tania was seventh in a time of 5:09.29. Tania was the first masters by a forty seconds.
