The Janes had a cadre of athletes head out to Mt SAC this past Sunday to compete in the Jim Bush SoCal Championships. They opened up in the 3000 meter steeplechase with Barbara Parker and Juliane Masciana going one-two in times of 9:38 and 9:59, respectively. Barbara’s time is the fastest mark run on American soil this year so far and Juliane’s mark is one of the top in the nation this year as well. It was a 10 second PR for Juliane.

Tania Fischer, Kirsten Leetch and Baby Janes Rachel Bush and Laura O’Neill then took on the 1500 meters running 4:42 (Tania), 4:43 (Rachel), 4:46 (Laura) and 4:53 (Kirsten).

Erika Aklufi, Emily Field and Tiffany Turner then ran in the 5000. Erika and Tiffany worked together throughout much of the race until Erika pulled away and eventually won, running 17:01 with Emily second running 17:21. It wasn’t to be for Tiffany who had some struggles in the middle of the race and ended up dropping out about that point.
The Janes ended up winning the team portion of the meet winning a trip up to Club Nationals in San Francisco in July.
