Tania Fischer, Kelle Taylor, Liz Buckley-Wheeler, Sissel Berntsen-Heber and Rachel Baker will be heading north to the Bay Area to run the incredible 10th annual Nike Women’s 1/2 Marathon this upcoming Sunday. The course starts in Union Square and runs along the bay, through the Presidio, Lincoln Park and Golden Gate Park, It then ends on the Great Highway along Ocean Beach. This has to be one of the most scenic courses but it will be a hilly one.
Nike estimates that there will be over 30,000 women running in both the half and full marathon, who will, by the way, all be starting at the same time. All finishers will receive a Tiffany’s and Co. finishers necklace.
Participants will be able to enjoy the Nike Expotique at Union Square the days before the event. The Expotique is a staple of the Nike Women’s Half and Full Marathon, showcasing the best of Nike innovation. Over the course of three days, runners will be treated to stunning product displays, live demonstrations of cutting edge Nike Running and Training technology, Olympic gold-medal athlete appearances and the best of Nike’s partner brands that help make this event possible.
And, since this is Nike’s 10th year with the women’s marathon, there will be a featured limited edition Nike Women’s Marathon Nike LunarGlide+ 5 training shoe and the limited edition Nike Women’s Marathon Nike X Collection for purchase online and at the event.
