A few of the Janes ran in the Santa Monica 5000 and 10000 this past Sunday. The 5000 was loaded with elite runners from across the nation and world. Erika held her own running fifth overall running 17:07 holding off the two Japanese women, Natsumi Nitsuzono, who ran 17:09, and Mizuki Suzuki, who ran 17:11. Rounding out the rest of the Janes team was Tania who was eighth running 17:42, Kirsten running 13th in a time of 18:49 and Kelle, running her first race of the season, was 15th running 19:03. Lauren Fleshman won the race overall running 16:11 while Janes friend and assistant coach to Tania at Santa Monica High, Barbara Parker ran 16:22 for third. Adrienne and Jenna ran in the 10,000 which followed the 5000. Adrienne was sixth running 37:33 and Jenna was ninth running 39:10. Grace Padilla won the race overall running a personal best of 35:29.
