The Janes headed down to the El Toro Airfield in Irvine yesterday to compete in the USATF Southern California Road Mile Championships. The second annual race brought out the better milers this year with records broken. The Janes competed well, with Cambria Wu running 5th overall (5:01.66), Colleen Joyce in 9th (5:06.91), Tania Fischer in 10th (and 3rd fastest Masters runner running 5:07.05), Emily Field in 11th (5:08.07), Adrienne Flores in 12th (5:10.22) and Sarah Montez in 13th (5:11.42).
Brenda Maritinez from Big Bear City was the overall winner running a blazing 4:38.43 winning by 17 seconds over Holly Hobson-Gery (Irvine) who ran a 4:55.23. Brenda set the course record with her winning time.
The Janes win the team title with their victory in the USATF Southern California Road Grand Prix Series.
