Two Janes ran in their local Turkey Day themed races this past week and were overall winners!
Kirsten Leetch got up on Thanksgiving morning before her day of eating and giving thanks to race in the Torrance Turkey Trot. She ran 16:57 over the three mile course.”I haven’t run this course in a few years now, so I was excited to get out after it over this flat course. The boys around me helped keep me going,” said Kirsten post race as she was last seen carrying her turkey trophy to her car.
Tania Fischer waited a few days later to run in the Santa Monica Gobble Wobble where she ran a conservative 18:42 over the 5000 meter course. The second place woman was nearly two minutes behind. “It was fun to get out there and win. I was just looking to get in a good, fast tempo run to get me ready for Nationals,” said Tania post race as she was seen walking off with her pumpkin spice cheesecake she earned for winning.
