Tania Fischer had a good yesterday at the USATF Cross Country National meet down in San Diego. The meet, held at Mission Bay Park, is the culmination of the cross country season which is a qualifier for the World Cross Country meet for the open and junior races. Tania came in third in a tough field. Former Olympian Colleen De Reuck (28:47) dominated the race winning by almost two minutes over the field over second place former triathlon Olympian, Joanna Zieger (30:21), and Tania who ran 30:36 over the 8k grassy 2k loop course. Tania said, “I was battling it out early with Carmen (Ayala-Troncoso) but then pulled away from her on the second loop. I thought I’d get passed up on the last loop. An 8k is so long!”
